Brick & Story worked with HR&A Advisors to support the City of Hyattsville, MD in the formation process for a new Business Improvement District (BID) in the Hyattsville Crossing corridor. Early project efforts included a feasibility study, with a variety of stakeholder interviews to understand the needs of property and business owners in the corridor, and to gauge interest in forming a BID in the area. Brick & Story has supported strategic planning to reach property owners and business owners, facilitation of stakeholder interviews, on the ground outreach to businesses and community members, and facilitation for community meetings for business owners. Along with the consultant team and city staff, Brick & Story offered planning, invitation, and facilitation support for the formation steering committee meetings. Our work has focused on creative and meaningful engagement with the hard-to-reach business sector to build consensus and grow momentum to support the forthcoming BID.
