Columbia Heights/Mount Pleasant Public Life & Vending Study

May 2024 - September 2024 - COMPLETED

Washington, DC

Brick & Story supported the Office of Planning in its engagement efforts for a public life and vendor study conducted by Gehl Studio in the Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods of Washington, DC. The study explored opportunities to improve public life elements, including pedestrian and vendor safety in Columbia Heights and opportunities for enhanced street vending and retail in Mount Pleasant. In addition to several public workshops and walkshops, the team hosted Spanish-language and/or bilingual discussion forums for Latino vendors to better understand challenges currently faced by the vending community.
