Sustainable DC 2.0: Racial Equity Impact Assessment
Brick & Story worked with the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) and the DC Office of Planning (OP) to conduct a Racial Equity Impact Assessment (REIA) of the Sustainable DC 2.0 Plan.
Richmond Zoning Code Refresh
Brick & Story is supporting engagement for Code Refresh, the update to the City of Richmond's zoning ordinance.
DC Public Library Facilities Master Plan Update
Brick & Story supported the DC Public Library (DCPL) in data analysis, report writing, and report design to update its Facilities Master Plan. The 2020 Facilities Master Plan was written pre-COVID 19, and the changing context of Washington, DC required an update to the plan from a new lens. Brick & Story was tasked with writing a new Facilities Mast Plan that reflected changes in library usage, the city’s economic outlook and demographic forecasts, updates to recommendations from the original plan, budgetary considerations, and the built environment response needed for climate change.
Commemorate DC
Brick & Story supported the DC Office of Planning (OP) and AECOM community engagement, including commemoration tours, visioning workshops, and design workshops for Commemorate DC in sites in Wards 4, 5, 7 and Ward 8.
Columbia Heights/Mount Pleasant Public Life & Vending Study
Brick & Story supported the Office of Planning in its engagement efforts for a public life and vendor study conducted by Gehl Studio in the Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods of Washington, DC.
Rosemary Hills-Lyttonsville
Brick & Story supported Montgomery Parks with their efforts to engage diverse community members around the potential updates to the Rosemary Hills-Lyttonsville Local Park.
Climate Ready DC and Resilient DC
Brick & Story, in partnership with SmithGroup, supported the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) and the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency of DC (HSEMA) to provide community engagement services on the updates to their Climate Ready DC and Resilient DC plans.
Climate Pollution Reduction Grant
Brick & Story, supported by Energy Shrink, provided engagement strategy and implementation services to inform DC Department of Energy and Environment’s (DOEE) Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP)
Charlottesville Comprehensive Plan, Affordable Housing Strategy, and Zoning Code Update
Brick & Story worked alongside RHI, HR&A Advisors, and CodeStudio to support the City of Charlottesville’s efforts to update its comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance.
Adams Morgan U. Street Library
Brick & Story conducted outreach and engagement and developed a library usage study for the Adams Morgan/U Street/Dupont Circle area.
Port Towns Sector Plan
Brick & Story supported RHI and the Prince George’s County Planning Department in their efforts to develop a new sector plan for Port Towns.
Alexandria West Planning Process
The Alexandria West Small Area Plan (AlexWest) explored ways to update the long-term vision for
the area through targeted outreach to several multifamily housing communities in the study area.
Arlington Homeownership Study
Brick & Story worked with HR&A Advisors to design and implement engagement opportunities to provide recommendations for updates to Arlington County’s homeownership assistance programs.
Durham Multimodal Resurfacing and Restriping
Brick & Story worked with a team led by Stantec to support the City of Durham in their efforts to plan for resurfacing and restriping of five state-owned corridors to improve mobility and connectivity.
Rock Creek West
Brick & Story provided community and stakeholder engagement strategy and implementation services to support the DC Office of Planning’s efforts to develop design and zoning recommendations for the Connecticut Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue corridors.
