Sustainable DC 2.0: Racial Equity Impact Assessment
Brick & Story worked with the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) and the DC Office of Planning (OP) to conduct a Racial Equity Impact Assessment (REIA) of the Sustainable DC 2.0 Plan.
Sudlersville Economic Development Study
Brick & Story worked alongside JS&A to support engagement outreach to develop an Economic Development Study for the Town of Sudlersville in Queen Anne’s County, MD.
Dix Edge Corridor Study
Brick & Story provided strategic storytelling services for the Dix Edge Area Study for the City of Raleigh, NC. Brick & Story also provided branding consultation services for this project and worked in collaboration with RHI to develop a project branding scheme, including logo and tagline, that could be used throughout the planning process.
Destination DC Resident Sentiment Data Collection
Destination DC contracted Brick & Story to collect and analyze data from residents about their perceptions and concerns around tourism in the District with the objective of ensuring that the organization’s sustainability strategy benefits and takes into account the views and lived experiences of residents all across the city.
DC Public Library Facilities Master Plan Update
Brick & Story supported the DC Public Library (DCPL) in data analysis, report writing, and report design to update its Facilities Master Plan. The 2020 Facilities Master Plan was written pre-COVID 19, and the changing context of Washington, DC required an update to the plan from a new lens. Brick & Story was tasked with writing a new Facilities Mast Plan that reflected changes in library usage, the city’s economic outlook and demographic forecasts, updates to recommendations from the original plan, budgetary considerations, and the built environment response needed for climate change.
Commemorate DC
Brick & Story supported the DC Office of Planning (OP) and AECOM community engagement, including commemoration tours, visioning workshops, and design workshops for Commemorate DC in sites in Wards 4, 5, 7 and Ward 8.
Columbia Heights/Mount Pleasant Public Life & Vending Study
Brick & Story supported the Office of Planning in its engagement efforts for a public life and vendor study conducted by Gehl Studio in the Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods of Washington, DC.
Westhaven Master Plan
Brick & Story supported the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (CRHA) in partnership with Arnold Design Studio in engagement efforts for the master plan to redevelopment of the Westhaven public housing community.
VOA Strategic Visioning
Brick & Story supported Volunteers of America (VOA) in refining its program and vision for its future headquarters.
S-Line Mobility Hub
Brick & Story is providing engagement strategy and services for the implementation of the S-Line Mobility Hub in Sanford, North Carolina.
Rosemary Hills-Lyttonsville
Brick & Story supported Montgomery Parks with their efforts to engage diverse community members around the potential updates to the Rosemary Hills-Lyttonsville Local Park.
National Landing Bid
Brick & Story supported the National Landing BID on stakeholder engagement as it conducted the annual update to its Strategic Plan.
Meadowbrook Run Apartments
Brick & Story supported Enterprise Community Development (ECD) with resident and stakeholder engagement for the map amendment application for the Meadowbrook Run Apartments.
Johnson’s Local Park
Brick & Story worked with Montgomery Parks to engage the diverse communities surrounding the Johnson’s Local Park in Gaithersburg, MD, for its park renovation project and new historic storytelling program.
Climate Ready DC and Resilient DC
Brick & Story, in partnership with SmithGroup, supported the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) and the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency of DC (HSEMA) to provide community engagement services on the updates to their Climate Ready DC and Resilient DC plans.
Climate Pollution Reduction Grant
Brick & Story, supported by Energy Shrink, provided engagement strategy and implementation services to inform DC Department of Energy and Environment’s (DOEE) Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP)
Charlottesville Comprehensive Plan, Affordable Housing Strategy, and Zoning Code Update
Brick & Story worked alongside RHI, HR&A Advisors, and CodeStudio to support the City of Charlottesville’s efforts to update its comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance.
Athletic Fields Usage Study
Brick & Story designed and facilitated a series of focus groups to solicit customer input to inform the update to Montgomery County’s Athletic Fields Usage Policy.
Adams Morgan U. Street Library
